Mechanical Engineering Senior Program Lead
MOTO provides product development services from initial business concepts through domestic and off-shore mass production for both startups and the Fortune 500. MOTO is typically the lead technical resource on programs and often our clients have no technical resources applied to the programs. Clients include SONY, Microsoft, Virgin, HP, and less well known startups. We are primarily focused on consumer and computer products but often develop industrial products.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual that can lead the development of entire product lines of leading edge consumer electronics through the full product life cycle. MOTO is recognized by our clients for our ability to solve their most difficult challenges. Programs usually include integration of geographically diverse development teams often including industrial design, interface design, product marketing, and technical teams at MOTO and the manufacturer.

MOTO is a flat organization and the individual in this role is expected to work both in a leadership role and as a significant technical contributor on multiple programs.

  • Client and team leadership and communication
  • Program planning and management including scheduling, budgeting, and team-building
  • Technical leadership and management of complex integration projects including software, firmware, electronic, mechanical and manufacturing/QA/QC resources.

Individual should have technical knowledge and competency of

  • Designing parts for high volume production (injection molding, casting, sheet metal)
  • High level of skill using Pro/E CAD tools
  • Full development / product life cycles including front end business planning, technical architecture, engineering development, transfer to domestic and off-shore manufacturing, and QA/QC management
  • User centered design principals / experience working with product marketing, industrial design and user interface design.

General requirements include BSME / MSME or equivalent with minimum of 12 years relevant technical experience and 7 years project management experience. Candidates should have experience with the complete product life cycle and working with non-technical clients / supervisors. Consulting experience a significant plus. Must be organized and have good written and oral communication skills.
