Livescribe’s Pulse™ Smartpen revolutionizes the simple act of writing. Pulse gives consumers all the portability, flexibility and ease-of-use of a pen with the functionality and power of a computer. Pulse records and syncs audio with whatever you write, so you never miss a word. Users can tap directly on their notes to replay recorded audio from the time they were writing. Pulse also connects to your computer so users can transfer, search and share their notes online with friends or colleagues.

MOTO’s challenge was to put the electronics of a PDA or smart phone inside the form factor of a pen. MOTO combined the latest low-power miniature electronics with traditional pen fabrication methods to create a pen — a Smartpen. MOTO worked with Livescribe from initial product concepts through pre-production of the super compact design, all delivered within 12 months.
